Vacation Blogging
Here's a bit of a change of pace for all of us: I am away on a much-needed vacation, visiting dear friends who live in the Southwest. Their main home is in the mountains about an hour away from Santa Fe, but they also have a small apartment in town. So we will be spending time in both places.
Yesterday we arrived at their country place after a few days in Santa Fe. It is peaceful and breathtakingly open here. Pine forest in back of their home and a valley in front. Lots of sky. Not enough rain for the past six months or so but lately there has been a little bit, which everyone is very happy about.
In Santa Fe the sun is searingly bright; here it is a little cooler. It all feels very different from my Northeast urban habitat. Lots of bird sounds all day. I am looking forward to exploring both places: in Santa Fe walking around and looking at the galleries and shops and people on the square. Here in the country we will go hiking. And I will have a chance to rest, and read, and do some work on a book project.

Have a great time! New Mexico is beautiful.
It sounds delightful! Enjoy! And your post just reminded me that we have dear friends who just moved to New Mexico (Albuquerque). We're going to have to visit them someday!
Thanks, all. Having a lovely time so far.
